Chapter 20: We Are an Old Married Couple

Wildly Stubborn and our conversations go like this:
Zack: "What did you say?"
Me: "Say What?"
Zack: "I said, I didn't hear what you said!"
Me: "I'm sorry, but What?!"
Zack: "Nevermind!"
Me: "Huh? I'm so confused!"

Chapter 19: AC...D.C.!!!

Riding into D.C. was epic!

First stop was in Alexandria to visit old friends Louis, his wife, Jen, and unborn baby Rufo! Good Friday fish fry at the uber cool Eamon's where we pondered the question "Is alligator fish or meat?" (think about it). I had a great time reminiscing and watching FGCU kill it in the Sweet Sixteen, even though they lost, Go Eagles, represent Ft. Myers!!!

Thanks for the candy, Jen, I'm so loving it!

After a pass through Georgetown where I got myself in some heavy bumper to bumper city riding, like a pro, I arrived at Ariel's place (Zack's sister).

We met Zack's old friend, Claudia and Sam, the most adorable couple ever, for drinks at Pearl Dive. An afternoon of beautiful people, conversation, and all around relaxing fun!

Arielle and Jared joined us at Cava Mezze for some bangin Mediterranean food to end the evening. We spent some time helping her move into a beautiful new apartment and celebrated with a glass of wine before crashing at Claudia's. That was a fun night ride through the city and a great goodbye!

Mt. Vernon trail is definitely where it's at

Chapter 18: People Are Strange, When You're a Stranger

i.e. in Hanover County, VA strange vibes from all over! A church and a bank were weird about bathroom usage. "Um... Do we look like we bank here?" Maybe we shouldn't have opened with "We are bank robber bike bandits... So please wait 30 minutes to call the po-lice so we can at least get a 5 mile head start."

Then while stopped on the side of the road a guy told us to move on because we were disturbing his dogs and that if we were lost there's a gas station up the road instead of offering some assistance.

Later, while seeking out a good campsite we came across a fire station that told us no because it was a liability!? "Dude, we are on bicycles for 2000 miles. Our liability is not getting hit by a car! Camping in your backyard would be the least of our worries."
